Fitness & Aquatics Pool

Our Pool

The indoor aquatics facility consists of four features:
Lap pool - 2 lanes, 25 yards each, ranging in depth from 3'6" to 6'. Swimming 70.4 lengths of the pool equals one mile.
Children's interactive play area - includes a double slide, fountains, and sprayers. The area is 1 foot in depth.
Resistance river - Swim or walk against a strong current for exercise (58 laps = one mile) or relax, walk, or float on the "lazy river."
Vortex - This circular vortex provides swirling, twirling aquatic fun as well as added resistance for physical therapy and exercise. Only strong swimmers are allowed in the vortex.

A certified lifeguard is on duty at all times.

Children 7-9 years of age MUST be supervised by an adult (16 or over) who is in the pool.

Ages 10-15 years of age may be in the pool area as long as a supervising adult (age 16 and over) is in the facility. The lobby counts as the facility.

Apparel
Children who are not potty-trained must wear swim diapers.
Swimsuits must be worn in the pool. You may wear a plain, clean t-shirt and cotton mesh shorts as a cover-up. Women's undergarments, such as bras and panties, do not qualify as a swimsuit. Thongs and transparent bathing suits, jean shorts, and boxer shorts are prohibited.

Lifeguard Certification

The purpose of the American Red Cross Lifeguarding course is to provide entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries, and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services personnel take over.

To enroll in the Lifeguarding course, you must be at least 15 years old before the last scheduled class session. To participate in the course, you must be able to pass a prerequisite skills evaluation by doing the following:

  • Swim 300 yards continuously, demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing. You may swim using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both, but swimming on the back or side is not allowed. Swim goggles may be used.
  • Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs. You should place your hands under your armpits.
  • Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds.
    • Starting in the water, swim 20 yards. Your face may be in or out of the water. Swim goggles are not allowed.
    • Surface dive, feet-first or head-first, to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object.
    • Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on your back and return to the starting point with both hands holding the object while keeping your face at or near the surface so you are able to get a breath. You should not swim the distance underwater. Exit the water without using a ladder or steps.

To prepare for the class, Fusion will hold two free Swim Clinics prior to the course to practice for the Pre-Course Swim evaluation for the class. We recommend that the student come to at least one of them. If the student chooses not to and does not pass the Pre-Course Swim, they will not receive a refund for the course. Official Pre-Course Swim evaluation will occur on the first day of the course. This must be passed to enter the course.
