Be Informed

At Hillsboro Health we want our patients to feel informed about their healthcare options. Each year Hillsboro Health hosts Managed Care Partners to provide an educational session discussing available Medicare plans and any annual changes. Below find copies of this year's presentation and corresponding documents and resources. 

Patients are encouraged to talk to their local SHIP (Senior Health Insurance Program) advisor (identified in the PDF below), to learn more about their options and make the choice that best satisfies their needs.

Important Annual Dates to Remember

September
Annual Notice of Change detailing major Medicare changes mailed.

October 1
Start comparing your coverage with other options

October 15 - December 7 Annual Enrollment Period (AEP)
Medicare-eligible participants may elect or switch health and prescription drug coverage. This includes returning to Original Medicare or joining a Medicare Advantage plan.

January 1
New coverage begins if you made a change. If you kept your current
plan, cost and benefit changes, if any, are also effective January 1.

January 1 - March 31 Open Enrollment Period
Only for those who are in a Medicare Advantage plan. They can make one
change to a different plan or return to Original Medicare and join a
stand-alone Rx plan. Changes will be effective on the first of the
month after the plan receives your request.
