Hillsboro Health is pleased to announce Roberta Koeppen, MD, will join its medical team to provide urology specialty services beginning in fall 2026. Dr. Koeppen will offer outpatient clinic care and perform urologic surgeries, enhancing access to specialized care for patients in the region.
Dr. Koeppen is completing her urology residency at Southern Illinois University (SIU) School of Medicine in Springfield and will bring advanced training and expertise to Hillsboro Health. A Bloomington-Normal native, she earned her medical degree from SIU School of Medicine and has focused her residency on comprehensive urologic care, including minimally invasive procedures and management of urinary tract conditions. She has been recognized for excellence in teaching and scholarly activity during her residency.
“I am excited to join Hillsboro Health and serve patients in a community-focused setting,” Dr. Koeppen said. “My goal is to provide compassionate, high-quality care that improves quality of life for individuals dealing with urologic conditions.”
Hillsboro Health President and Chief Executive Officer Michael Alexander said the addition of Dr. Koeppen is a major milestone for the hospital.
“Having Dr. Koeppen join the full-time staff at our critical access hospital is a great addition for our community,” Alexander said. “Access to specialty care like urology is often unavailable in rural areas, and her expertise will allow patients to receive advanced care close to home.”
Dr. Koeppen’s clinic will open in Fall 2026 following completion of her residency training. More details about scheduling appointments will be announced closer to her start date.
