Hillsboro Health Junior Board

Youth Positively Impacting the Community

Do you have a child that is between the ages of 9 and 16 who enjoys helping others and giving back?  Since 2001, Hillsboro Health's Junior Board program empowers youths to make a difference in their community through developing leadership, teamwork and public service skills.

What is Junior Board

Hillsboro Health Junior Board meets on the third Thursday of the month on the following months: February, April, June, August, October, and December. During these meetings board members participate in activities and discussions that help them learn cooperation, team building, leadership and service skills. We help build confidence through group conversations and community activities while being representatives of our hospital.

In addition to our bi-monthly meetings, participants are asked to participate in several volunteer projects in the Hillsboro community throughout the year.

Some community events the Hillsboro Health Junior Board participates in:

  • Spring/Fall Community Clean-ups
  • Hillsboro Festivals and Christmas Event
  • Kids Summer Lunch Program
  • Old Settler's Parade
  • Other community recycling events, fundraisers, and races.

This program is for children from any community and is not restricted to Hillsboro residents. All are welcome and we are always looking for new members of Hillsboro Health's Junior Board!

Children must be between the ages of 9 - 16 to participate.
