The latest technology for breast cancer detection is 3D digital breast imaging.
This technology produces three-dimensional images of the breast from multiple angles and with more detail, improving physicians’ ability to detect cancer early. In fact, radiologists are finding invasive breast cancer 41 percent sooner with 3D digital mammography.
Since this technology allows radiologists to digitally enhance and magnify images, it also improves the accuracy in pinpointing tumor size and location and reduces a woman’s chances of needing to come in for additional mammograms. At Hillsboro Health, we’ve decreased the additional view rate by nearly 80 percent since using 3D digital mammography.
